Happy Father's Day?

When you say "Happy Father's Day' this year, try to figure out what exactly that means? Despite overwhelming evidence that confirms the necessity for both parents, and especially fathers to be present and voluntarily involved in the lives of their children, in some circles, Americans are still debating whether fathers are necessary. Numerous barriers, including many mothers still make it difficult for fathers to play active roles in their children's lives, and some fathers, who were raised in mother-only environments also do no know what fatherhood means. Some mothers also, who were raised without fathers are either still looking for them or they struggle with what role exactly fathers should play in their children's lives. Fatherhood in America remains a very complex issue and America is still number 1 in the world, when it comes to the number of families that do not have fathers present. Yet, one thing we do know is that all children do need a father and when fathers are absent, children suffer greatly. This father's Day, when you say "Happy Father's Day!" or when you reflect on your relationship with your father, perhaps you should think about it a bit more seriously. Fathers are people too. They do not need gifts like tools, ties or socks. They need love all year round and they need to be a part of their children's lives. Fathers - Get involved! Mothers - Make it easy for them to do so! Children - Honor your father! Happy Father's Day!"
