Often misplaced anger is at the root of these particular mothers&#39; negative attitudes. The reasons for this anger is all-to familiar and runs the gamut from: &#39;How could you do that to me?!&#39; &#39;Who do you think you are?&#39; &#39;I am going to make you pay for x, y and z by keeping our child away from you.&#39; All things equal, in the absence of abuse, the role of both parents is inviolate of course that is next to impossible to keep at the forefront of one&#39;s mind when all of the demons that in the past one has successfully kept at bay by dint of faith, commitment or friendship, have closed in to maliciously malign, or produce feelings of malcontent with respect to the estranged man. The result of these mothers&#39; ill-advised attitudes is an alienation of the father-child relationship because of her overt and covert acts to undermine it, or she disrespects the man for the N-th time and to such an extent that he must remove himself from being a part of his child&#39;s life.
